about us

Students always come first at Tairāwhiti Polytechnic.

Tairāwhiti Polytechnic is the major government funded Tertiary Education Institute providing educational opportunities in Gisborne, Tokomaru Bay, Ruatoria and Napier.

Our tutors are the best in the business – we seek out those who teach because they love it. They're there to help you achieve your dreams, and they'll go to any lengths to make that happen.

We have a wide range of programmes – something here for everyone – whether you're looking to step up to university or keen to stay local and get your degree, diploma or certificate.

Our partnerships with other learning organisations throughout the country – Wintec, EIT & Tai Poutini – make it easy for our students to slip seamlessly between courses.
